Elena aims to provide the perfect union of function and personality/form in all interior design projects. Kitchens and bathrooms are often the most used and most valuable spaces in a home in terms of ‘return on investment’. As a result, creating a great kitchen or bathroom is heavily reliant on practical strategies that make the spaces easy to use while equally reliant on creative strategies that make them aesthetically unique to the people that are using them. This is what makes kitchen and bath design such a passion for Elena but can also be what makes kitchen and bath projects intimidating for the layperson. However, Elena believes great kitchens and baths can be achieved on nearly any budget and Three Week Kitchens is able to provide an amazing framework that takes the anxiety out of the design and remodeling process.
Elena is a career changer, having graduated from Case Western Reserve University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theater and a minor in Fine Art many years ago. After the death of her mother in 2006, she re-examined her life choices and realized that interior design was a path she longed to follow. Shortly thereafter, Elena enrolled in the highly-regarded Interior Design program at Arapahoe Community College in Littleton, CO, earning her Associate of Science in Interior Design in 2009. Since graduating, she has worked for a high-end residential interior design firm, a national furniture retailer providing interior design services to customers, and done consulting work with private clients on kitchens, baths, living rooms, bedrooms and more. She is extremely excited to be a part of Three Week Kitchens and can’t wait to help you create the kitchen and bath of your dreams!
On a personal note, Elena has been married for 15 years to her best friend, Alex, and they have 2 sweet dogs, Molly, an elderly Pug, and Django, a Ra-Cha (Rat Terrier - Chihuahua mix). She and her husband love to travel, particularly to tropical locations and snorkel their hearts out whenever possible. Her favorite tropical places include St. Lucia in the Caribbean and Manihi in French Polynesia. In her free time, she is an avid paper crafter, a Walking Dead and Hannibal fan, and loves reading, especially a good mystery.
